One school year, everything cracks: divorce, betrayal, bullying, loneliness, addiction, a crash that changes everything. Seven teens learn that God does not send every hard thing. Sometimes a trial comes from another person's choices, and sometimes simply from living in an imperfect world. Whatever the cause, the Lord can use it to bring us back, and knowing Jesus Christ is what heals.

About this book
Written at a 9th-grade reading level, with a "Walk with Him" box in every chapter, Bible and Book of Mormon stories retold for teens, and a closing fireside where the teens share their testimonies.
The book deals with divorce, bullying, depression, pornography addiction (never graphic), drug use, an impaired-driving crash and a death, all at a level suited to teens. It includes an "If You Are Hurting" page with the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
The teens and their families are fictional characters.
From the back cover
How can you explain something you do not understand? And how can you understand it if you have never lived it?
“Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? I tell you, Nay.”Luke 13:4–5
When the tower in Siloam, near the pool at the south end of Jerusalem, came crashing down and killed eighteen people, everyone wanted to know whose fault it was. Jesus said it was not theirs. Some things we break ourselves, some things other people break, and some things just happen. In His hands, none of it is wasted.
One school year in Rexburg, Idaho, it all cracks at once for seven teenagers: a dad who can't work, parents who split up, a target in the hallway, a new girl eating lunch alone, a secret habit, a mom who can't get out of bed, and one night of revenge that changes everything.
The Thing About Cracked Screens follows them through the hardest year of their lives and points every reader to what heals, soothes, guides and warms: a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
